I’m a big fan of the video shorts “Will It Blend” by Blendtec. They basically put their product to the test by blending (rather chopping, mutilating, and otherwise destroying) unusual items in their consumer grade blender. You only need to watch one video to be amazed at this device. Even more impressive to me is what a great idea it is from a marketing standpoint. They take a normal household appliance and make their version of it into a superhero through the power of new media.

This week, they blended something that will bring a tear to many a geek. They blend an iPhone. If this doesn’t say something about how well they are doing, I don’t know what does. I weep in effigy to the fallen device.

If they actually put this up on eBay, I guarantee some Will It Blend fan would pick it up.
