If you follow me on Twitter, you may have caught that it has been a pretty good last 24 hours for me in my new media world. For starters, I rolled out episode #1000 of the Kansas City Weather Podcast. As best I know, I’m only the second podcaster to achieve such a feat. The other, Laurence Simon from 100 Word Stories, achieved the feat quite some time ago (of course, his show started in May of 2004). It’s hard to believe that I’ve produced that many shows of KCWeather. In less than a month the show will also hit it’s 3-year anniversary.

However, the 1000th show is not the only big thing going on. I was able to record and release 2 BIG interviews for Looking Out the Window. I rolled out the first part of my interview with Matthew Ebel on Looking Out The Window last night. I often credit his CD release show of “Beer and Coffee” and hearing the story behind “Tennessee Never Cried” as the spark that started the podcast. I’ve always been a HUGE fan of Matthew’s music, and to finally get him on the show was a big treat for me. If you haven’t heard his music, check out the show and consider purchasing his incredible music. His last album wears a groove in my iPod’s hard drive, and the new one is heading down that same road.

Another big thing today was that I finally got a chance to re-record an interview with the beautiful and talented Laura Clapp. We did an interview some 18 months ago, only to find out that it never recorded. I have been anxious to get back with her to feature her on Looking Out The Window. We finally made it happen today. She has a brand new live album out called “Leaving NashVegas”, and my copy arrived in the mail as we were recording the interview. Look for the show with Laura to roll out on Looking Out The Window in the next month.

Of course, there are other good things such as a huge win by the Green Bay Packers, receiving a generous gift in the mail, and getting a new closet organizer built in my son’s room. But all in all, it feels really good to get things done. Looking Out The Window has felt neglected lately as I’ve struggled to get fresh content from musicians for the show. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep the flow of shows going as we head through this new year.
